Blending the Perfecting base

The Perfecting Foundation comes in a 35ml liquid format with a specific numbered shade. Work a small amount outward from the centre of the face, then soften the transition at the jaw and hairline. Compare the complete shade code, including any cool, warm or neutral designation, before replacing a previous bottle. A similar number from a cushion range does not establish the same formula or finish.

Getting the base right

This Sulwhasoo foundation works best when the shade is considered alongside your preferred finish. Compare it at the jaw and blend towards the neck in natural light. Skin preparation also affects how coverage sits: give moisturiser and sunscreen time to settle before applying your base.

How to use

Use after applying your makeup base. Shake gently before use. Dispense an appropriate amount of the formula, then apply it along the grain of your skin. Upon application, tap gently to finish.

Apply a small amount with a suitable brush, sponge or fingertips and blend outward. Add coverage locally around marks or uneven-looking areas. Keeping the first layer thin leaves more control over the final result and helps avoid a heavy edge around the hairline.

Formula and finish

• Niacinamide: A form of vitamin B3 used in skin-conditioning formulas, including products focused on a more even-looking complexion.
• Betaine: A moisture-binding ingredient that complements the formula's other humectants and helps maintain a comfortable feel.
• Beta-glucan: A moisture-supporting ingredient that accompanies the formula's other skin-conditioning components.
• Glycerin: A humectant that binds moisture, helping the formula maintain a hydrated feel without adding an oil layer.
• Adenosine: A skin-conditioning ingredient used in formulas focused on a smoother-looking cosmetic finish.
• Butylene glycol: A solvent and humectant that helps distribute ingredients through the formula and contributes to moisture retention.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the Perfecting Cushion?

This is the 35ml liquid Perfecting Foundation. The cushion is a separate application format, so compare the full product name and shade rather than treating the two as the same item.

Should I apply one thick layer or build coverage?

Build this foundation in thin layers. Let the first application settle and add a small amount only where needed; the rest of the face can retain a lighter finish.

How do I check the shade?

Compare the selected Sulwhasoo shade against the jawline in daylight. Check the complete shade name and code, since numbers used by other foundation ranges are not a reliable colour match.

Which option does this listing identify?

The listed option is 11C Cool Porcelain. Match the complete option name when comparing Sulwhasoo products. A similar product name or neighbouring shade number does not establish the same colour, format or pack.

Which ingredients help identify the formula?

The ingredient declaration includes Niacinamide, Betaine and Beta-glucan. These are selected formula ingredients, not a separate treatment or a statement of concentration. Read the complete list below when checking the product against ingredients you already use.
